"Its more of a relax environment. Not alot of extras but room was nice music in bar was very good. Downtown Galena and surrounding area is were all the attractions are to see. "

"Rarely are places even better than pictures, but that's the case with Ulysses Suite 204. My husband and I were blown away. Joan has anticipated and executed every detail a guest could want: gorgeous decor, perfect location, beautiful lobby with sparkling water on tap and umbrellas for our rainy morning, a dreamy bathroom, a Fellows tea pot for our tea and coffee, a bed and bedding that slept wonderfully, and on and on. And to walk downstairs for a fantastic cappuccino and pastry at Bread & Vine each morning was icing on the cake. We started our week road trip in Galena with two nights at Ulysses, and it set the bar so high that nothing else compared all week. Perfection."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Galena, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the perfect blend of old-world charm and modern luxury. The hotel is stunningly beautiful, uniquely decorated with thoughtful details that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The fireplace in the bedroom was such a cozy touch, making the entire experience feel truly special; perfect for a romantic getaway. The location couldn't be better. It’s conveniently situated near the river trailhead, making it easy to enjoy scenic walks and outdoor activities, and just a short stroll to downtown Main Street. Nate was an exceptional host who truly goes above and beyond. He made us feel incredibly welcome and at home from the moment we arrived and was a tremendous asset to our trip, offering fantastic recommendations for local attractions, dining, and activities, and even helping us plan our days to make the most of our time in Galena. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made our experience all the more memorable. This property is a true gem; beautifully maintained, uniquely decorated, and equipped with all the modern amenities you could want. We loved every moment and are already planning our return. This is definitely one of the most special places we've stayed, and I can’t wait to come back!"

"This trip was a Christmas gift for my 6 adult children, something I do every other year. When I started looking for a Vrbo, I knew that I wanted a place with history, a place that oozed with the essence of Galena. This beautiful Rowe house was the perfect fit! Very clean, lots of space, super close to downtown and stocked with everything you’d ever need. Parking was a bit challenging but we made it work. Thank goodness we carpooled. And, we really would have enjoyed a second shower, since none of us are tub people.All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would rate this beautiful home a 9 out of 10. Thank you for letting us enjoy and experience a piece of Galena’s history."
