"Barbados Chi Guest House was an excellent stay from start to finish. To begin, the guest house is centrally located in the diplomatic area of "B-Town". Being steps away from embassies and other government buildings was an excellent start to seeing the local historic treasures. As a traveller who was looking for a natural experience entwined with the Bajans, the 5 minute walk to the bus and 20 minute walk to Carlyle Bay became central to my exploration of Barbados via bus/taxi. Secondly, the guest house is beautifully nestled on a parcel that allows for patio sunrises looking into the expansive natural garden the hosts have in the yard. Next, the hosts were fantastic. I was a solo traveller and from my original arrival till departure, they were full of courtesy, suggestions for locations, and how to travel to the planned spots, all while quietly tending their garden. My welcome included the host taking me down to Carlyle bay for the evening, taking her time to welcome me to Barbados, while helping me get comfortable with the week of exploring the island on foot i had planned. They even fixed a blown shower head seal the same day I informed them of the issue. Christy and Victor (aka Box) will be my first call for my next trip to Barbados, when I return to take in my missing site explorations. My next trip will include friends, so remember that they can accommodate large groups >10 as well. "

"This wellness sanctuary was exactly what I needed. From the birdsong to the rain pouring down in the evening, everything about this place invites you to slow down and breathe. The plantation-style setting is quaint, grounding, and deeply peaceful—surrounded by nature in a way that feels authentic and intentional. I spent the evening resting on the hammock as the rain fell, then moved to the upper deck to read, reflect, and write. As a writer, I really appreciated how inspiring and calming the space is—it naturally encourages creativity and presence. The simplicity of the accommodations is part of the beauty; it relies on nature and the essentials rather than excess, and it feels far more nourishing than an overpriced, overly curated hotel. One moment in particular will stay with me forever: while I was reading and recording a poem I was working on, right at a tender line about love, the on-site dog wandered over and sweetly started licking my face—completely unprompted. It was such a pure, unexpected moment of connection that my heart just melted. I felt so much love in that moment, and it perfectly captured the spirit of this place. Adding to the magic, I’m celebrating my birthday this weekend, and the sanctuary happened to be setting up for a party—creating a beautiful, celebratory energy that felt like the universe saying, “We already set the table for you.” My only regret is booking just one night. I absolutely wish I had stayed longer and would return in a heartbeat. "

"The hosts were very friendly from the time of first contact at booking through the entire rental period. Alvon and Sandy were very attentive to our needs, requests and questions; Alvon even checked with us online at least once a week to see how we were getting on, and at one point even brought us a gift of some local fresh seafood! (We enjoyed it very much.) The house was very clean, nicely appointed and furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay -- including 3-1/2 bathrooms, which is very important for travelling seniors! The location was near a large mall for shopping/food needs, and not far from several smaller local markets, including a fruit & veggie vendor on the sidewalk at the turn-off to the house.Several lovely beaches & snorkeling, restaurants & cafes within a short drive from the house.All in all, the most enjoyable and comfortable experience in a rental home that we have had in over 25 years of international travel."

Juliette, the property manage, was excellent - she waited and greeted us upon arrival, was always available when little issues came up (missign grill cleaner, clogged tub drain) and addressed them in a timely manner. Property was very clean and comfortable. We picked this specific property to be at a midway point from all parts of island - we did a lot of driving everywhere and saw a lot. Wonderful stay. "
