"Can’t fault the hotel. Or the staff lovely big room great breakfast But unfortunately I didn’t look at reviews regarding the noise level. As it was right in the middle off the bars and nightclubs scene. The noise was about till 3 am Thursday and friday night. Musics and revellers Enjoying Liverpool But cannot fault the hotel whatsoever."

"The hotel stay itself was fab. It’s in a fantastic location and the room was clean and comfortable, though the mattress was very soft and nearly rolled off a couple of times with the edges being even softer. No discount for the car park even though the website mentions registering the registration at the desk. Very poor communication from the hotel itself. We received a message which said ‘urgent’ and to check in online, which we’ve never had to do in the past. Worried it was a scam (because there was a fee to do so) I messaged the hotel directly - and through Hotels.com - and instead of receiving a reply, I just kept getting the same ‘urgent’ message about checking in online. This left me feeling worried then that my original booking wasn’t genuine and I stood in the check-in queue on our day of arrival half convinced the booking didn’t exist. Luckily, all was fine but the worry could easily have been avoided if only the hotel had sent a response to my messages instead of a generic automated response telling me checking in online was ‘urgent’ when, in fact, I could simply check in at the hotel as I have always done."

"A spacious room with large desk area. Big kettle and mugs, good size tv, easy to use. Bed was comfortable and really liked the bathroom, well set out and particularly liked the large shower area with two glass doors, so clear and easy to open and close these doors. Nice full size toiletries. Asked for extra milk supplies many times at the reception desk as we do drink a lot of teas and coffees and we didn't want to have our room serviced very often so my 80 year old husband could not be disturbed in the morning. WiFi worked well. Paid for one breakfast, plenty of choice and stocked well even though we ate about 9am. Thoroughly enjoyed our first class fish and chips too on Friday evening. Liked the location, close to Albert Docks and to the bus station and Luverpool One. Would certainly recommend a stay here and would be happy to book again. Especially enjoyed being able to check in 2 hours earlier as our room was ready. All tge staff work so hard in all areas, often covering several sections at once. Only criticism,please learn to smile when you chat to guests it makes a big difference."

"The Municipal is a lovely hotel, communal areas are fabulous, it is in a great location and was immaculate. We booked it for my birthday due to it being the only 5 star hotel in Liverpool and thought we would give it a try, we normally stay in the Titanic hotel, however I’m not really sure why it is classed as a 5 star hotel. The Titanic hotel in Liverpool is far more superior in my view. We stayed in a Superior room in the municipal and I have to say I was disappointed, the rooms in the Titanic are by far better, they are around 3 x the size with lounge area and have a bath as well as a shower. We are unlikely to stay again at the Municipal but it may suit others more than us so don’t be put off we just prefer something different."
