"This hotel is in an absolutely fabulous location. It seemed like it was about a 5-10 minute to virtually everywhere we wanted to go. I am very picky regarding cleanliness and I was extremely pleased with the condition of the room and, most importantly, the bathroom. The bathroom was small, but very functional and a good use of space. We got in late so didn’t check in until about 11:00 at night. There was a little bit of a wait at the desk for that, but nothing to complain about in my opinion. The only real complaint I have is that the rooms don’t have coffeemakers. I didn’t check for this when booking because I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel that didn’t have one. They should really add these. Especially in a city where you have to get out of the hotel and walk somewhere to find a good cup. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay here! "

"My favourite hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia is the Sylvia Hotel, which was built in 1912 and has been updated… the Westgate reminds me of the Sylvia… the windows that open are wonderful to enjoy the sounds of New York and fresh air… the beds are very comfortable… the staff are very helpful and accommodating… I was doing business at the United Nations and the Westgate is a block up the street to the west from the UN…"

"For New York the hotel was a good deal better than we expected. The room was large, clean and given that NY never sleeps it was reasonably quiet. Yes the decor was a little tired but still very much to a reasonable standard. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The idea of the destination fee of $40 per day should be dropped and added to the standard charge. Then give the $15 as a bonus per day to spend in the shop. Many thanks for a great stay "

"We will definitely stay here again! Staff was helpful and friendly. The room was super spacious which was a shock. We had no trouble with the elevator at all, never had to wait long to go up or down. Didn’t hear any noise from other guests in our room, and the outside noise wasn’t bad compared to what I’m used to with NYC hotels. The location is perfect for us, love being near the subway (yellow/orange line right outside the door basically) and love being in Koreatown area, such great food. This will probably be our go to hotel from now on. We didn’t try the free breakfast or coffee so can’t review that. Very comfy beds also! My only suggestion would be to add some live TV channels, there was no ABC, NBC etc."
