Comfortable and clean room close to Sowerby Bridge, slthough it's a hilly walk.

The White Lion is a very quaint, cozy hotel. Our room was beautiful. Comfortable and clean. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both were delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Lovely hotel - a real gem

All the staff were very friendly, nice, kind and helpful.

I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.

Other than repeated difficulties we had finding the hotel upon returning from our daily genealogical research outings in the area, we had the MOST wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were well-appointed and clean. The food--both the menu and preparation--was of the highest quality (i.e., what I might expect for a large city restaurant, but found in this small town on the outskirts of Leeds). We have stayed at the hotel numerous times in the last decade, when in the UK. Always cozy, comfortable and clean. Great views! Josh, the General Manager, displays excellent customer service skills. He was very helpful and understanding of a request beyond our control; and always seemed upbeat. Night staff were also very friendly and kind. Cheers! Jonathan

My 3-night stay in January was nothing short of wonderful. My room was extremely well appointed and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom. The restaurant food was excellent both for breakfast and dinner and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved my stay! The staff was super friendly and nice, felt very welcomed. The room was comfortable and clean. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was perfect, I also dinned in the restaurant and loved everything. Banana Toffee Waffle dessert is well worth the calories!
