"Breakfast was amazing! All staff spoke English and were very helpful. I loved the huge soaker bathtub after a full day of hiking! It would have been nice to have a complimentary or even minimal cost Shuttle Service on our arrival at the Interlaken West train station as the hike up from the Laghasse bus stop is quite steep when hauling luggage up to the hotel. The Visitor Guest pass at least allowed for free use of local transportation close to our hotel. And we were able to pay for a shuttle to the train station on our departure day. Overall a wonderful experience."

"5 minutes walk from Lucerne train station, which is well connected hub for bus, train and boats. Good location for short few days for taking day trips around Lucerne. Overall rooms are smaller than NA hotels but it worked for us as we were out most of the time..."

"We stayed for two nights at the end of our honeymoon and the first night was a huge disappointment. I booked the triple-duplex room which I believed was a small but still well-appointed room that would be a luxurious way to cap our trip. However, the room is very small and in what appears to be old staffing quarters under the main hotel room floors so there is no view at all, bathroom is very small, and it’s difficult to even get your bags up the wooden staircase (we are young/strong). Please also note the “free stocked minibar” was just one bottle of room temperature water outside of the fridge. We were most disappointed with this as were under the impression the free stocked minibar would include bottled water and beer (based on other online reviews of the hotel) and we had only chosen this hotel over others for that appeal given the cost of drinks + food in Switzerland. When we were unhappy with our first room, we asked to pay the difference to upgrade to another room for the next night and they were kind enough to offer that at no charge for our disappointment with the other room which we did really appreciate. Bottom line is this hotel is beautiful if it’s important to you that you stay in a castle but the amenities for the base rooms ($500 +) are very basic so know what you are getting in base room vs the suites shown on the website. We had mixed experience with the staff helpfulness but overall the day staff were very professional. The beds and funicular were amazing!"

"Excellent front desk service. The room was wonderfully quiet- one of the most quiet we have had in Europe. We had a ‘comfort double’ room - mattress was firm and comfortable, bath room was small with minimal amenities. Breakfast was included and was served in a very nice dining area. Food quality did not match up with the nice surroundings though - scrambled eggs in particular were questionable. Location was excellent- an easy walk from Interlaken West station, even with bulky luggage."
