"The property was in a fairytale house in a magical location. All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The staff showed a real pride in working at the Castle and truly helped to set the atmosphere. Check-in and out were brilliant. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!"

"Lovely hotel, fantastic value for money! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the house keeping staff had made a real effort to decorate the room for our 5 year old's birthday. The pool was a brilliant amenity, and very appreciated by our 5 year old, made it feel more special. The room was huge and had everything we needed, our only slight issue was how warm the room got, as there is no AC and the room and bathroom are a little tired but considering the cost it is definitely value for money and we would definitely return."

"Check-in was a little slow — the booking system seemed to be having an off day — but the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We were shown to our room, which was upstairs in the side building. We’d read other reviews mentioning these rooms run hot, and unfortunately that held true for us too. Thankfully there was a fan in the room, which we set up and it made a real difference. Aside from the heat, the room itself was excellent — really clean, well maintained, and everything in great condition, with plenty of hot water for both the shower and basin. One small niggle (echoed in other reviews too) is that the stairwell light runs on a push-button timer that’s set a bit too short. Overall though, a high-quality room, just a touch warm. We didn’t eat here in the evening, but we made good use of the excellent range of beers on offer — very welcome after a day out, and thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast was the one letdown. It’s a continental spread — a carton of orange juice, a couple of boxes of cereal, an oat bar, and a small carton of milk in the fridge. Underwhelming enough that we walked across the road instead, where we had a brilliant breakfast. If the owner’s reading this, it might be worth either partnering with the place across the road and offering breakfast there for a small supplement, or scrapping the current offering altogether and just pointing guests in that direction. Would we stay again - yes absolutely!"

"We had a great holiday at Penn Court, much enjoyed by all the family (13 of us, age range 2-80 years). The three separate and spacious holiday lets easily accommodated us all. It’s a wonderful place for children with extensive grounds and a good sized swimming pool. Hollingbourne is a pleasant, quiet village, with good pubs and a community café at the railway station (frequent trains to London Victoria). There’s a very wide range of places to visit, with numerous historic properties, many of them National Trust. Leeds Castle is only a couple of miles away, with lots of things for to do (entry tickets are valid for a year from date of purchase so ideal for the children). Very strongly recommended."

"Breakfast excellent but the meat at theSunday carvery wasn't covered by staff all the time and consequently blue bottle flies were walking over the roast beef which put you off. When said about it to the staff member she just smiled and gave a little laugh. Not the most suitable answer. Otherwise the stay was very good."
