"Very helpful, friendly, and beautiful staff who pampered me while I was recuperating from a pulled knee ligament. Young Deborah and Pierre especially could come home with me to befriend my two offspring of the same age. The place itself is a gorgeous neo-classical structure of heavy sandstone blocks finished with contemporary fixings that together create a refined yet funky air of nouveau chic. Great value too."

Lovely stay in Charente-Maritime

"We spent a memorable week at Autour d'un Puits in Marsilly. The location is excellent, close to La Rochelle, the charming villages and gorgeous beaches of the Ile de Ré, the Marais Poitevin and more. The gîte is exactly as advertised. We had plenty of room for four and enjoyed cooking several nights during our stay to save money and relax. Philippe and his wife were friendly and helpful throughout. I'd stay there again."

Premiere Classe La Rochelle Nord - Puilboreau

"The door didn't close without us slamming it, some staff were very friendly but others were quite rude and didn't tell us when the breakfast buffet moved next door until we came downstairs and reception was locked so we knocked until someone answered. The area around the hotel is lovely but the hotel itself isn't the best. It's old, with black mold in the shower railing, orange soap scum staining the curtain and poor ventilation, even worse AC. Says the soap etc is included but provided only one hand soap which was poorly functioning as the bag inside the dispenser was broken. If you like lizards we did see one outside though, very cute."
