"The room was clean and the staff were very helpful. The only gap between this good experience and what could have been an excellent experience were small things: The room had only one bathtowel and the soap dispenser was empty (I asked and was immediately given more towels and soap). The room lacked glasses or cups, even plastic or paper ones. The room lacked the usual small table and chairs for checking one's laptop, etc. The air conditioner was so loud that it could not be turned on when we were in the room. Note that I still gave a good rating, because these were small quibbles, but taken together could have really made the room excellent rather than just good."

"The staff were great. The area is quiet, the room clean and the bed comfotable. Food is nearby within a few minutes drive. The price was good considering I was there over the Labor Day weekend. Overall, good value. I'll probably stay there again."

"The room was very clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the beach. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!"
The Stevenson Monterey

"The Stevenson is a basic, no-frills motel that works well for a short stay in Monterey. A big plus is the free parking, and the room has all the basic amenities you need. That said, the rooms feel a bit dated and dingy, the lighting isn’t great, and it doesn’t appear to have been recently renovated. It was perfectly fine for our one-night stay and served its purpose, but I’d keep expectations realistic if you’re looking for something more modern or comfortable."
