"The room had a slight musty smell and I didn’t realize that the suites were outside (almost like town homes ). I would have liked to know there were options to stay in the hotel portion . But staff were friendly and it was a short but overall pleasant stay. Clean and relaxing/peaceful."

"My son and I had a wonderful stay here! The room was perfect for doing family history research with the dining table and couch to work on. The location is perfect and within walking distance to all of the main attractions of Salem. Our room was very comfortable with a day bed in the living area for sleeping and a large bed in the bedroom. The kitchenette was great for early morning coffees and small meals. The staff were very friendly and helpful! Would definitely stay here again 😊"

"Irving House is fairly conveniently located for access to Harvard Square/Cambridge. The single occupancy room was tiny but had everything I needed. The shared bathrooms were very clean and there were enough to avoid any waits. The building is a bit old and creaky, but overall comfortable and quiet. If you need the latest in mod cons, this probably isn't the place, but I enjoyed the old-school rooming house ambiance as well as the low price."

"We loved the building and the decor and the old fashioned big wooden cabinets and the organized breakfast area. The set up was so very convenient and comfortable. The best thing of all was Karen, one of the housekeepers, greeted us at the door and helped us with luggage. It was a pleasure chatting with her the following day too thank you for making our day so easy and comfortable!"

"The Chapman House was a fantastic stay. Clean and comfortable. However, the stay was very loud. Our room was right near the main door — additionally, there is a lot of construction going on right next door as they’re rebuilding an Inn that burnt down. "

"The Lakehouse Inn is really cute, right on a lake with wonderful waterfront spaces. The bathroom situation is more European--toilet and shower in the bathroom, sink outside. There was no tub, not a problem for me but good to be aware of. The morning breakfast was delicious! I was greeted with a white wine sangria. It's conveniently located for roaming around Stockbridge, Great Barrington, etc. Close to the Norman Rockwell museum, Hancock Shaker Village, Edith Wharton estate. Would absolutely...
