Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel

"Overall excellent. Great location and had a quiet-corner 1 bedroom apartment which was clean & spacious with kitchenette. Two things to watch out for here: 1. Check-in (approx 2.30pm) took forever with a massive line of people and only 2 staff on the front counter which was annoying after many, many hours of travel. On a busy afternoon, you won't get much change out of 45 mins for check-in. 2. You cannot phone reception from your room and have to visit the front desk in person for any issues, questions or requests that arise during your stay. This is incredibly annoying, especially as there consistently seemed to be a solid lineup at reception for both check-ins and general queries. You can try just phoning the hotel number from your phone, but even when I tried that there was no answer. Apart from those 2 shortcomings the room itself was most excellent and reasonably priced, and I will definitely stay again."

"Nice room, overall the building shows some wear but the room was a good size, well appointed and with a view of the cricket ground which was nice versus the side of another building. Bathroom was a good size, nice shower. Dressing room area, tea, coffee etc. Staff were friendly and helpful and always available at the front desk."

"Close to everything. Staff is friendly, easy check in, easy check out. Room is clean and spacious. Only gripe is water temperature, not staying consistent. But for the price and being close to everything make up for it."

"The entire hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was a good size and from the 18th floor we had a great view of the city. The bed was very comfortable and the free breakfast, which was changed every morning, was lovely. The staff were very friendly, especially Pinky, who remembered my name after one interaction at check in. The hotel is a small walk to Southern Cross Train Station and the trams are not far either. There are a range of restaurants near the station and a good sized outlet. I enjoyed the hotel and would easily stay there again."
