"The room met our needs exactly. It was tidy and the beds very comfortable. We made use of the kitchen facilities to save money on meals too. The secure parking at the rear was very useful for avoiding parking fees. The TV remote control was broken but wasn't a deal breaker."

"Stayed for birthday celebrations. Had a surprise upgrade when we checked in and a treat in the room, which was lovely. Hotel room was clean and well equipped. Bed was comfy and was a peaceful stay. Breakfast the next morning was really nice. Choice of cooked and continental with something to suit everyone! Will definitely stay again!"

"We arrived to a fab welcome, staff were so polite helpful and friendly. Check in process was brilliant. Room was spotless beds were comfy, breakfast tasty! Location of hotel is brilliant for the shops and sights. Hanover st qpark is a two min walk and safe parking. I forgot to pre book parking so this would have given us a discount but that was my fault for not reading the conf properly. We left a couple of items (iPad and tshirt) and they messaged to say they’d been found in the room, luckily we were still in the area so could nip back and get them. How lovely is that! Should mention kids stay and eat free, Faultless stay, enjoyed every second and honesty and friendliness of the team is great! Thanks Novotel we will be back x"

"My daughter and I were visiting Liverpool University’s open day and needed a place to stay for 1 night that was near the university. The Malacuna was a great place to stay. It was very close to both the university and Liverpool Lime Street station. Our room and bathroom were clean and modernly decorated. Had a nice hot shower in the morning too. And compared to other accommodations, it was reasonably priced."

"We loved the hotel, there was nothing to fault (we had a free upgrade). It was a special anniversary so everything was beyond our expectation. Everything was tastefully designed. The room was beautiful, well lit, well furnished and the bed was so comfortable. There was a large bathroom and walk in shower. We stayed on the3rd floor facing Philharmonic Hall and there was negligible noise from the road below and none from the rooms around us even though the hotel appeared to full or close to full on a Friday evening. The food in The London carriage Works restaurant was excellent and breakfast the next day was good too. Lastly, the staff were polite and kind without being obsequious."

"The hotel is a 19th century house across the street from Sefton Park in a very nice neighborhood. It is also a short drive to Beatle sights. A short walk away is bus service to the center of Liverpool. Parking is free. My room in the annex did not measure up to the photos of the standard double room. The plumbing was ancient and noisy. The carpet was stained. However the Lobby and main corridor were very nice with period details. I did not eat at the hotel but there are several restaurants and pubs a short walk away. I suspect the rooms in the front part of the hotel are much nicer than the ones in the annex."

"Excellent price, terrific location- very quiet and excellent parking right outside. The only minor things I would mention - not enough toilet paper, no shampoo or conditioner, and body wash virtually empty. Both beds very uncomfortable, but of course beds are very much a personal preference. One bed was very hard, the other was very soft and you could feel the springs when laying on it. Did not use the sofa bed. It had not been vacuumed when we arrived and the sofa has stains. Fast communication from the host, who is very personable."
