Its location is great and staff are great, but it also has combination of classic elegance and quality that many other hotels lack. It’s not ostentatious, but everything is super high quality from the breakfast to the rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful and I like that is in the river. My only suggestion are that the beds could probably use new mattresses. But they are still quite good. "

I was met with a warm greeting in the morning for breakfast and assisted with my needs for transportation from the front desk and the concierge staff. The hotel cleaning staff kept my room in a warm/welcoming condition the entire two weeks of my stay. I highly recommend this Ritz-Carlton. "It was my first time back in Beijing after more than two decades, and Sofitel made it extremely comfortable. A free room upgrade to a higher floor, great room (with Lanvin amenities), friendly staff and very well stocked gym with techno gym equipment, I was set for a great stay. However a couple of things to note, 1. while it is within walking distance from the metro station, there wasn't much in the area. 2. Google maps doesn't work in China, so finding the hotel using Google maps can be slightly tricky because the hotel's signage is quite low key. 3. From a safety perspective, I left weights that didn't have a proper storage spot on the floor. However, a gym staff who came by to tidy up the gym moved it to any open spot on the rack, and told me to stack it. While I followed the ask, I wouldn't recommend it as it has a higher risk of falling and landing on someone's feet. Also, having weights randomly placed on the rack makes it look really messy. "

"What made our experience exceptional was the excellent service received from all staff starting at the reception (especially from Ms. Fiona, Ms. Nancy and Mr. Scott), the dedicated bell boys and cleaning staff, and the friendly staff in the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was of high quality and has an extensive assortment of food items. The executive appartment and the hotel in general are very clean. I truly highly recommend this hotel and we will most certainly stay at this hotel in the future."
