Montone is a small walled medieval town built on a hilltop that overlooks the upper Tiber valley. It’s surrounded by beautiful countryside with stunning views. Walking, hiking and cycling are all possible from your doorstep. Montone boasts several restaurants and bars serving local produce all within easy walking distance.

The apartment is a one bedroom with a king sized bed and a sofa bed in the spacious living room. It has a newly fitted shower room, and a beautiful new modern kitchen. The kitchen has new Miele appliances including Dishwasher, fridge, oven and hob. It is fully equipped with everything you might need to cater at home. There is also a washing machine for guests use and towels and bed linen are included with this rental. There are 2 smart televisions to watch your Netflix or Amazon account and free wifi. The living room has a log burning stove and the apartment has central heating for the cooler months and ceiling fans for the warmer weather. There is a small balcony for alfresco eating or early evening aperitifs.

Montone is the perfect all year round holiday location with many wonderful places to visit nearby. Assisi, Perugia, Cortona to name but a few. There is a monthly antiques market in Arezzo and a weekly food and clothes market in nearby Umbertide with wonderful local fruit and vegetables. Of course it wouldn’t be Italy without wine, there are many wine tasting experiences close by and the Umbrian wine is delicious.

Other activities include golf at the Antognella golf club only 15 mins drive away. There is also lake Trasimeno to enjoy. You can take the ferry to Isola Maggiore and enjoy lunch in one of several restaurants. Maybe hire a boat for the morning or afternoon from Passignano and have a swim in the lake.

The nearest airport to Montone is Perugia approx 40 minutes away. Ancona is 90 minutes and Florence is 2 hours. Rome airport is 2.5 hours.
