"My family of 4 spent 8 nights at Mountain Laurel Lookout this May. It was everything the listing described and more. Beautiful cabin, amazing views, and a secluded setting. Just magical! A few things that I would want to know if I were looking at this property: 1. This cabin is in a private gated community, which we liked. It’s a drive back to “civilization.” But TOTALLY worth it. 2. There is only one neighbor in view of this cabin (right next door), but you can’t see it at all from the windows or the deck. No other cabins are close. Mountain Laurel feels super secluded and private. 3. Once you pass the gate, it’s a fairly steep climb to the cabin, with lots of twists and turns. When the owners suggest you arrive during daylight hours, do it! Their directions are great, but daylight will help you navigate the first time! 4. They suggest having a front-wheel or all-wheel drive. We did, however, make it just fine in our little Hyundai Elantra. We DID have to put it in 1st gear driving up the last little bit, where the road was about a 45 degree angle. But we managed just fine. We would NOT attempt it in that car during winter months! 4. The cabin is very well-stocked. We really appreciated having access to spices, trash bags, laundry detergent, etc. Thank you!! 5. We spent A LOT of time on the deck reading, eating, and enjoying the breathtaking views. If you plan to rent this cabin, make sure you give yourself ample time to enjoy the beauty!!! 6. We LOVED the game room! ❤️"

"We have always stayed there. Since maybe 2009, and my parents before that... Have stayed twice this year already. Pets rooms are not carpeted and get super clean and are set away from the non pet. Great family staff. "

"My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. My brother-in-law has mobility issues so the master bath walk-in was a life saver for him. Everything- furniture, appliances, kitchen supplies, bathrooms, etc- were well maintained and comfortable. I highly recommend these accommodations!!"

"Check in process is easy. Very clean house on beautiful property. Wonderful indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out and relax. Creek/waterfall in the back yard is beautiful. If I make it back to NC this will be a place I would stay again."

Just a heads up to read the amenities list carefully - the host provides one roll of TP per bathroom (2) so if you’re staying with other people for more than a few days, you’ll need to pick that up. Also, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in one bathroom only."

"The Hummingbird was an excellent choice for our family. Location was awesome to all the amenities: Chimney Rock, Black Mountain, Old Fort, and Ashville! We didn't waste a minute! Weather was great! The house had everything and more and pics online don't do it justice it's better!!!!!!! The perfect stay for a family!"
