"Such wonderful hosts and a great location! We had a great time going from onsen to onsen and stopping at the snack bar across the road before retiring for the night. "

"Beautiful hotel, clean amenities, and wonderful staff! After check in, you're guided to choose a yukata to use during your stay. Geta sandals are also available if you would like the full experience.
We arrived at Kinosakionsen via JR train and there were free shuttle services outside the station for hotel drop off. The hotel also has their own shuttle service that runs every 30 mins between a certain time.
The entire town is walkable, but it rained during our stay, so we couldn't explore as much since it hard to walk in the rain in our yukatas and the geta sandals. To make the most of the onsens, I recommend staying at least 2 nights and Kawaguchiya Riverside Hotel would be a great choice to stay at!!"
"A ryokan experience. Food was excellent, but it was a lot! Wait person was very good and handled dealing with gaijin well, although we speak some Japanese.
Room was classic Japanese stay, with tatami and futon. Area was a pleasant reprieve from the crowds of Tokyo and Kyoto. Japan Sea is a short taxi ride and is very beautiful!"
"Such a lovely place and the owners/staff are so friendly and kind. Everything from check in to accessing the onsens and meals were great! - we all slept well too on the bedding. If I come back this way again, I’ll be staying here!"
"Excellent hotel with friendly staff who were very accommodating to tourists who didnt speak Japanese! We were a little disappointed in the food but if you enjoy traditional Japanese ryokan cuisine, you'll probably appreciate the meals. We personally preferred the more modern Japanese food we had elsewhere on our trip."
"Staff were fantastic, very helpful and accommodating with all our requests. The breakfast was the best part of the stay, incredible value for a Japan style breakfast"
"We stayed in a prong room with a small terrace which was great to look over the street and people watch. Very quiet and relaxed hotel. The room was perfectly clean and presented. Such a lovely check in from staff who helped so much with our lack of Japanese. The private bath was great. Excellent location, only across the road for a couple of onsen. Map and guidance on yukata given. Would definitely stay again."
"Very well maintained and nice stay. The family running the place is very kind, and provided us welcome tea and cookie upon checking in! The private open air onsen in the room we booked was amazing, at just the right temperature and automatically running and refilling. The location is perfect walking distance and in a central location to many of the public onsens and shops. Highly recommend!!"
"A good spot to stay in Kinosaki. The room itself was pretty outdated with an old tv - I really enjoy when hotel TV's have casting capabilities which this one did not. But the service and meals service was excellent, it's a self-serve buffet style dining which is great if you're a slightly fussy eater like myself.
A little disappointed that the room view was blocked by netting for maintenance, which Inwas advised prior to arrival but after booking. I think some form of discount would have been nice for the inconvenience considering I had booked a river view room."
"The hotel experience was awesome and the staff could not have been nicer. Beautiful lobby with garden view and appreciated the welcome drink from the bar.
The room was spacious with a lovely bathroom. Decoration was truly Japanese, with tatami mats and sliding doors. The room provided appropriate clothing for the onsens…yukata, obi, sandals etc. The onsen was modern, spotless and spacious, with both inside and outdoors areas, the later made of large rocks.
The shuttle service to other onsen areas and to and from the train station was an added plus."
