This beach cottage provides excellent views and lovely sunsets over Roanoke Sound, yet it is only a 5 minute walk to the beach access. Close to area attractions and just 2 blocks from Jennette's Pier. Shopping and dining within walking distance.

Amenities include all Smart TVs or with Roku streaming, DVD Player. Rec room has wet bar, mini-fridge, pool table, foosball table, books, movies and games. Great room has pub table with 2 seats, 4 bar stools, pantry (2 full size refrigerators in kitchen area), dining room seating for 10. Picnic table and deck furniture. Pool is 12x28 with a large area around it.

Located in Whalebone Cay Subdivision on cul-de-sac, mile post 16.2. Plenty of room in front of cottage to park small boat/jet ski, etc.

Guest Review: "Wonderful! Fantastic family venue!" " For our first ever beach house rental with kids and grandkids, it turns out we picked a feature-packed rental home. The living and sleeping areas are incredibly spacious and well-planned for multi-family use. The open, well-lit kitchen had plenty of high-quality dishes, cookware and utensils, and the unadvertised extra pantry with 2nd refrigerator was a welcome surprise for the cooks! We made good use of the huge dining table for family board games, and when we entertained visiting relatives from Ohio there was plenty of room for a total of 21 people for dinner. The grandkids enjoyed the game room, and they loved the large pool! There are multiple back decks with good views of the pool below and of the ocean with lifeguarded beach near Jennette's Pier, just a short walk away. (The pier is open for night-fishing, and our dads and sons took the opportunity to make a memory by catching a skate!) A favorite family highlight was watching a spectacular lightning storm over the sound from the front deck off the dining room. We appreciated the personal contact with the owner, both through the rental process and in meeting our needs during our visit. We would definitely rent this house again."

Great location

Location was great. Short walking distance to beach, ice cream shop, restaurants, Tanger Mall. House is essentially on the highway, but some reviewers commented about how loud it was. We had no problem what so ever sleeping. Sitting in front deck at times was loud, but there are several decks to this home. Pool is great; plenty of space inside. Comfortable beds. House was clean enough, but it needs a DEEP clean: baseboards, some furniture, around door handles, etc. TV in master bedroom never worked. Called maintenance on Monday, didn’t show up until Thursday. TV in living room is way too small for the size of the room.

Great Vacation Home In The Heart of The OBX

This was a great beach house for celebrating my husband’s birthday with some close friends. It had everything you could want in a rental and was very clean. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the online description, is because I would have loved to know that the private pool will not open until April 29th. Therefore, if we wanted it cleaned we would have had to paid extra. Knowing this would have allowed me to adjust my scheduled stay accordingly since one of the primary reasons for choosing this beach house was the private pool and hot tub. I was definitely annoyed by learning this after my arrival. Other than that lack of prior communication, this beach house was full of fun activities, lots of space for food and beverages, a wonderful tub in the master sweet, and gorgeous views from the many balconies. I hope to stay here again.

Perfect for fishing weekend & jeep invasion

The location was perfect for fishing on the pier and attending the jeep invasion. It was challenging to fall asleep at night because the house is located on the main road and the traffic is so loud. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and hanging around the pool.

Nice house

Location is very close to other homes. There Is no privacy. Unfortunately we had 4 kids in the house to the left of us that were extremely rude while their parents left them unattended. The family on the right of us had a screaming baby from Wednesday on. The house is decorated nicely. It is close to everything. The internet/wifi is extremely bad. It was difficult to stay connected or to stream a movie without constant buffering.

Review

The TVs never worked. We did get a service call and technician said he had fixed it but issues were resolved. I texted the office again and was totally frustrated with their response which they did not respond for the second call. Also the carpets are very old and stained. The carpets weren't clean that well either when we arrived.

Great location if you can tolerate poor cleaning

I stayed a lot Shell Town in August 2022. Even though the location is nice, I would not stay here again. Here the pros and cons: Pros - 5 minute walk to beach - Good size pool that is shaded by the house - Beautiful view of water upstairs - Outdoor shower - Located near the pier, restaurants, and walking trail - Linens are provided Cons - There were cleanliness issues. The bathtubs & toilets were dirty. My magic clean eraser was saturated in dirt after cleaning the master shower. The toilet had pee stains under the lid. Refrigerator door handle was filthy. Food ok the living room carpet. Management did offer for the cleaners to come back to clean the house and allow us to sign off on whether it was satisfactory. - The grout in the master shower had mold. Housekeeping helped remove a lot of it but there was still some mold there. - Issues with WiFi connection on the 2nd and 1st levels because router was on ground level.

OBX in April

My four girlfriends and I enjoyed a lovely week at the Seashell House. We had a great week with mixed weather…all sunny skies fluctuating temperatures between 88 and 59 degrees. Seashell house is as described and afforded much comfort and amenities . We enjoyed the various decks with views overlooking the sound, ocean, and main thoroughfare. The hot tub and pool were a definite bonus! I can’t imagine how busy things must be “ in season” and glad we picked April to travel. Note: the premises was generally clean/tidy. However, the carpets had obviously not been vacuumed prior to our visit. We found crumbs, Easter basket grass and other debris throughout…nothing terrible…but there. The dish washer was also loaded with dirty dishes…again., not an issue, just disappointing. I mention these things since I believe the management company charges/in charged for cleaning service. We were technically challenged and had trouble with the remote controls, instructions might be handy. The market behind the house is especially wonderful…they have a little bit of everything (TP, garbage bags, detergents, groceries, deli, beverages, ice, and various sun dries). Anyway, vacation was enjoyed by all! Thank you.

Great vacation property

We had a great week at this rental house. The location is great; near Jennette's Pier and there are lots of things to do nearby. The beach is a short walk away. There is also a convenience store within walking distance. We all enjoyed the pool area, including the hot tub. We would definitely recommend this property.

Spacious home

The house was gorgeous and spacious. The home is located on the main road which is a bit loud and busy. The rooms are very bright so it made it hard to sleep. The home is with in walking distance to the beach and Jennett’s Pier.

Great rental for large group.

Great rental in a fantastic location! the rental is keep up very nice with tons of space for a large group. We could all eat together and hangout or go about our separate ways in the house. Able to watch sunrises and sunsets from the decks. Nice hangout in lower level with pool table and foosball. The backyard is complete with outdoor shower, pool and hot tub. The pier, beach and local convenience store is within close walking distance. It's also very close to shops and restaurants. We all enjoyed ourselves very much!
