"The Kauai Inn is quirky, eclectic, and all the other adjectives that describe a historic inn nestled next to the Lihue harbor. Drive past the warehouses, docks, storage tanks, and assorted industrial activity to a secluded garden spot housing rooms that look like they're relics from the 50s. Will you be impressed with the luxurious surroundings and comfort? No. But everything works, the place is clean, quiet, and well organized. "The first room that I paid for through Expedia and checked in was super hot they did not turn on the AC before we arrived so it was like 90°. We had three twin beds and one small AC. "This is our second stay at this property and it is as beautiful as I remembered it. We were quite relaxed as soon as we checked in. We were in a studio with a Murphy bed but it wasn’t too bad as we were out most of the day. Our next door neighbors were quite noisy and we alerted the Front Desk and it was remedied quickly by putting up a sound barrier between the connecting doors. "Our 4 day / 3 night anniversary stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort was extremely disappointing from start to finish. On our very first morning, we woke up to a flooded hotel room. Our clothes, luggage, and personal belongings were soaked. Instead of immediately helping resolve the issue, the staff gave us a hard time when we requested assistance getting our clothes and luggage dried. We were promised a new room right away, yet it took nearly 8 hours before we were finally moved....

There was a dirty sock in the drawers, a lizard running around, and MULTIPLE cockroaches.
