3 min walk to Staten Island ferry. Breakfast provided was minimal and dissappointing. No juices. Basically bread butter, 1 bananna, 2 tangerenes and 2 soft apples. Towels were like sandpaper. Place was clean. Host always available and helpful.

A Unique Experience

The B and B at Fort Place Staten Island was a great place to stay. My room was actually almost like a little apartment with a large master bedroom, my own kitchen and access to a lounge room. The only thing that my little " home" was lacking was a microwave oven as I couldn't get the oven to work. The hosts were very helpful and really made me feel welcome and the location was fantastic. There were plenty of eating options nearby and within a 5-10 min walk. Finally it was also a 10 min walk down to the free Staten Island ferry to Manhatten New York a trip I made twice in my 4 days.

Great location.

Location was optimum for Staten Island. Breakfast was minimal, not the usual B&B breakfast. Property was beautiful and very comfortable. Hosts were available and super friendly. Happily accommodated a late check-in due to flight delays.

Quiet, affordable stay in New York

Very convenient to the Staten Island Ferry terminal for free ferry trips to Manhattan area. Plenty of restaurant options within a few minutes walk. No usable wifi in the room but it was available in the guest lounge.

This traditionlly built 1920's house has been lovingly maintained & restored. The artwork around the property, I assume is the work of the owner and although may not be to everyone's taste, I found interesting and a nice homely touch. The continental breakfast was sufficient, and beautifuly presented. It was very comfortable and relaxing. It is situated in an ideal location for a short walk to the free ferry to Manhatten Island and onto main New York city centre attractions.

I liked staying at the Fort Place Bed and Breakfast. It was really close to the ferry, which was what I liked best about it. The breakfast was very nice, and was always on the table at 7:30 AM, so I was able to start my day with a nice cup of coffee, some fruit, and bread. My only complaints were that it could have used a few air fresheners, because the room smelled a bit "old". We only got one key for the house. This became problematic fast, because I stayed out late and almost couldn't get back into the house. I gave the key to the person I was staying with, since they returned earlier. The microwave was situated on a shelf that was high up, so I could barely reach it. From what I could see, it wasn't cleaned in a while. I dreaded taking a shower because of how slippery the tub was. I wished there was a bath mat in there. Other than that, it was really nice. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The room was left alone in my absence, and it was a pleasant week.

Ein großzügiges Quartier, in dem wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Das Frühstück ist nicht besonders üppig, die Fenster sind nicht sehr gut schallisoliert, aber das wird alles durch den Charme und Charakter des Hauses wettgemacht. Die Matratzen sind gut, die Dusche funktioniert bestens, die dazugehörige Küche ist gemütlich und recht ordentlich ausgestattet, man ist in 7-8 Minuten auf der Fähre nach Manhattan, gegenüber gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt - eine Kleinstadt-Idylle einen Katzensprung von Manhattan entfernt.

Prima prijs kwaliteit verhouding.

Prima bed and breakfast, op een prima plek om New York te bezoeken. 20 minuten varen met de gratis pont en je staat in Manhatten. We hadden een grote kamer, keuken en badkamer beschikbaar. Fantastisch bed. Paul is een erg vriendelijke gastheer. Bij een volgend bezoek aan NYC gaan we hier weer slapen.

Great and affordable place

We were on a road trip from Nova Scotia to New York for Easter Weekend and stayed for two nights at Fort Place Bed & Breakfast. It is the best value you can get for visiting New York City. It is only a few minutes walking from the ferry to Manhattan. The rooms are spacious and clean. It is not a fancy B&B by any means, but is clean and has everything you need. Paul the own is amazing and will assist you with anything you need. The morning breakfast was very nice and included a fresh bagel, coffee/tea and fresh fruit. Good way to kick off your day.

A great way to visit the city

There weren’t a lot of frills here, but it was very cozy, clean, and super convenient to the ferry. The early morning breakfast was simple but enough to get us out the door.

Great location & comfortable

The Fort Pl Bed & Breakfast is a great location. Just 3 blocks from the Staten Island ferry port. There is a grocery across the street and a fridge in the B&B. Host told us about Pier 76 restaurant nearby and we loved it so much we ate the 4 times. We had the top floor and it was quiet (except for occasional street noise) and it could easily accommodate a family of 5. The included breakfast was enough to get the day going. Wi-fi was great in the downstairs living room, but don't count on it on the 3rd floor. We will definitely stay here again if we are in NYC in the future.

Tanto spazio, tanto verde e tranquillità

La camera era spaziosissima e, attigua, avevamo a disposizione una piccola "sala da pranzo" dotata di frigo, microonde, tostapane e bollitore, nella quale ci veniva servita la colazione al mattino. I proprietari molto diserti ma altrettanto disponibili in caso avessimo bisogno del loro aiuto. Per arrivare al traghetto per Manhattan basta una passeggiata di pochi minuti e lo spettacolo che si guide da ferry è tra le migliori viste di New York , di giorno e soprattutto di notte.

Très pratique pour séjourner deux nuits à Staten island. Le ferry pour NY est à 500m. Les chambres sont très grandes.Un petit déjeuner est servi chaque jour. Paul,le propriétaire est très sympathique.
