"I don't usually write negative hotel reviews, especially after a one-night stay, but after spending four nights at Broadfield Park Hotel in Rochdale, I feel it's important to share my experience.
My husband and I were initially given a room with a very odd layout, where the TV was positioned away from the bed, making it uncomfortable to watch. Reception advised us to return the next morning, and to their credit, we were offered a choice of alternative rooms.
Unfortunately, the second room had extremely poor shower pressure throughout our stay, with the water sometimes coming out in little more than droplets. Despite reporting the issue, it continued.
Housekeeping was virtually non-existent. During our four-night stay, our towels were never changed, the bed was never made, the bin was never emptied, and toiletries and toilet roll were not replenished.
The mattresses in both rooms were very worn and uncomfortable, leaving both of us with aches and pains. The hotel feels dated and in need of refurbishment and, in my opinion, does not meet the standard expected of a three-star hotel.
There were also occasions when reception was unattended. At one point, I had to find a member of staff elsewhere in the hotel to locate the receptionist, while another guest was waiting to check out.
The only positives were the convenient location, free parking, and an acceptable breakfast with a halal option available."
