"Horrible experience. I was traveling to Berlin for one night and upon arrival I found the hotel front door closed. Apparently this is normal as there is no staff on hand unless there is a check-in due however this prompted me to give the hotel a call. The lady on the phone then (in a very rude manner) informed me that the booking I had had been cancelled by hotels.com and that there were no rooms available. I had not been informed of this and my booking was still listed as active and upcoming in...

"This is not a proper hotel! There's no staff there. You're supposed to get a code to enter but it doesn't come in and then when you try to contact them it takes them forever to respond. You only get 15 minutes of free Wi-Fi! Ridiculous in 2024! "

"This property was a perfect place to rest your head at a very competitive price. Its located next to multiple U-bahn stops for easy commuting around the city and a 20-30 minute walk to downtown Mitte, 10-20 to Kreuzberg, and to many of the sight-seeing spots around town. There are few amenities (bring your own bath soap and don't expect an iron), but the bed is comfy, the space clean, and for that price and location, made for a great place to rest my head at the end of a long day."

"We stayed over the NYE holiday and didn’t expect to find something so affordable. The location was alright in terms of convenience but the area is a bit questionable. Either way, the reception desk staff were very kind and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. Not bad! "

"Hi, there is no do not disturb sign so every day the cleaner would knock very loudly and barge into the room. Also the owner demanded payment when I checked in the even though I booked online. Why do I have to pay twice? Also I checked in at 11:30 pm and the reception was closed even though they’re supposed to be open until midnight. What if I didn’t have a phone? I would have had to sleep outside "

"Friendly staff - room very clean - Shower and Toilet immaculate all TV stations working (un usual for a German hotel). Short walk from the sub way station. Girl on desk very helpful. Lots of information in room about nearby eateries etc..... Nice double size bed for a single room, lots of space "

"Getting the key out of small box not clearly marked or indeed explained in the email was very stressful. This is a real problem. Hotel reception closes at 4pm!!!!"

"The front desk was not open at all twice when we went to check in. A third time we went back and they were kind but no one spoke any English. I couldn’t communicate needs (extra towels or glasses). The location says Prenzlauer Berg but this isn’t in the center of that cute area. It’s more on the outskirts. "The internet was broken, no elevetor - no airconditioning and the bugs - flies and wasps flew into the room. Had to have the windows open because it was so hot. Nice older couple ( I'm 74 myself) but in way over their heads. Really too bad. I booked another hotel through expedia and move - a good hotel the Mercure."

"It's a unique little place in the heart of the Prenzlberg district of Berlin. Just a block from Schönhauser Allee S & U train station and also a block from historic Gethsemane church. Lots of little eateries and a major shopping center all just a few steps away. Neatly appointed rooms that fit right into the district's vibe. And an ice cream shop right att the entrance. "The only reason I didn't give excellent is because the hallway and stairs need work. The room itself was bright and comfortable and clean. I feel this prooerty has gotten an unfair rap. It is an older building and not your IBIS but it is fair value downtown AND the host is the nicest and most helpful we have encountered AND there is an excelkent and full breakfastbreakfast "

"The entrance and access to the rooms was dirty and unwelcoming. There was a lot of noise from delivery trucks and garbage trucks. There was no reception to speak of and this made it difficult to organise anything like taxis etc to get around. Extremely rude and arrogant manager who swore and used foul language when we made a comment that he was not very helpful or courteous. The place itself once passed the entrance was lovely but there was no lift and no help with luggage up the stairs. ...
