"This is a fantastic location, conveniently situated close to the motorway network while still offering a peaceful rural setting. The hot tub and swimming pool were excellent additions and really enhanced the stay. The amenities are modern overall; however, the TV and WiFi were disappointing. The WiFi connection was very unreliable and barely usable at times, and the TV did not support streaming services, which was a drawback."

"We used to stay here many years back when visiting relatives in the area. Now it has turned into a Spa Resort, great for those who like and want to be pampered, no problems there, but we did find the restaurants evening menu is now very restricted for choice., plus there was always cold blasts of air, making it very uncomfortable to dine. Back in the day the then Ostler restaurant was far superior"

"Wonderful stay. The setting is very peaceful and calm, after a 2 night stay we felt utterly replenished. The beds and pillows were large and comfortable. Robes and slippers were provided. The staff were friendly, approachable and professional. The spa is truly a gem here. Clean , was never crowded and relaxing. "View from room was great. Location outstanding. Breakfast was a rip off ( One glass of juice with additional chargeable and one choice for a continental breakfast). Parking £20 a night if you can get a space. Place in need of some TLC, it's seen better days since my last visit. A shame, so much potential but seems want to grab as much money from you as possible without reinvesting in the experience."

"We had a nice stay at the Boathouse. The room was comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast with river views. We needed a place to stay and it was race day in Chester. We learned of the culture of increased price across the city and can't recommend at the price we had to pay as the facilities were the same."
