"I was warm without touching the air conditioning. While the parking was not right by the unit it used, there was good parking. I had no trouble walking up the sloping driveway and the steps to access my accommodation. Others might find this a problem. "

"Perfect to get away from the city buzz. No TV. There's plenty of games available to use. The fire place made the whole house warm and it felt cozy. The warm showers was awesome after long day out and about. It was nice to cook on the gas stove or make that cuppa and enjoy it on the "stoep". Breakfast was just right and it was lovely to soak up the morning sun while listening to the outdoors. PS: As the place is self sufficient, there is no microwave and you can't use a hairdryer. I'm glad I've checked this beforehand with Biddy😄."

"The room was clean and comfortable with a microwave, refrigerator, some dishes, and plenty of space. It isn’t fancy, but was a nice place to stay a couple of nights in the Waitomo area. "

"Cabin has a bad smell (note on wall stated it was recently varnished but did not have this smell). Shower went hot then cold on and off which made for a very unpleasant experience. Overall i would recommend to get an ensuite and skip the cabin to stay. Friendly staff but overall not a pleasant stay for the price."

"It was definitely a unique stay. Just keep in mind that the deeper in the ship you go, the colder it gets. However, the duvet and blankets they provide are plenty warm, and there are extra heaters provided, plus some electric blankets I think. People complained about the diesel smell, while present, it faded away for me after a while, it wasn't overpowering or anything. "

"Everything we were hoping for. Friendly welcome, clean and had everything we needed. A 2 minute drive to Waitomo Village for very tasty dinner at the pub. Able to live out our Hobbit fantasy with amazing room and imaginative art work. Would definitely do it again. Completely unique experience."

"The lovely, friendly, man at the desk was very welcoming, and offered great advice on what was in the area to visit, etc, i.e. attractions and eateries. For our one night stay, the unit was very clean, tidy, comfortable, and offered everything we needed. We will be back again and would love to stay longer. Thank you xxx"
