"Sausage at breakfast was cold. Didn't see red light on the warmer until after we were done. Pool and hot tub were closed which meant disappointed kids. Hallways stink so bad. Like someone vomited and it was vacuumed then the vacuum used in other areas as well. Then there was a powerful air freshener used to cover it up for a few hours that was almost as nauseating. The ac was across the huge room, on the other side of tv stand, so it never reached our bed right beside the jacuzzi. Jacuzzi didn't hold water entirely. You could hear it draining the whole time and see it going down slowly. I've stayed in several quality inns before but this is the worst I've been in. "

"The quality of the toilet paper and Kleenex are poor, rough. I missed having flavored creamer offered in the dining room. A microwave in the dinning room would be helpful. The cleaning supplies they use smell great. "

"The Port is a special place - A historic hotel located in the heart of downtown Port Washington with views and access to Lake Michigan. The proprietor is very responsive and although not on site, ensures that everything runs smoothly. Highlights include a well-stocked guest lounge that includes great breakfast options, snacks and ready access to a full kitchen. Much thought and effort has been taken to make sure guests are comfortable. The suites are spacious and are tastefully decorated in a historic style. A good local restaurant and bar is on the lower level - operated by a different entity. Be prepared to walk up steps - 38 to the third floor. We always use stairs so this was not a hardship for us, but after a hiking all day, we noticed them. Our only frustration was the use of perfumes or scents within the room. We are highly sensitive to manufactured scents and were uncomfortable with the strong odor. Our request to the Port and all proprietors of lodging is that they use less perfume. Don't assume a scent you favor will be liked by others. Fortunately, we were able to open the windows to increase fresh air. You'll like this place!"

"The staff at the Washington House Inn are simply delightful - from check in to breakfast to those cleaning and maintaining this lovely building - all were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb, fresh with many different homemade offerings. The staff even offered me a to-go box when I couldn’t eat all my breakfast. Check in and out was very easy and there was plenty of parking in the private lot and down the street. This is the third time we have stayed here, and we intend another visit next year as well. "

"Upon arrival we were warmly greeted, all the staff members were so welcoming, the room was stunning, so cute and extremely clean! The location was amazing and we were within walking distance of the whole downtown area near plenty of bars, restaurants and shops. The bar downstairs has the kindest bartender Rick we were able to enjoy the night with him and some locals 10/10 evening. The bed was extremely comfortable as well, I could not recommend more! We will be back!"

"Not worth the price! Furniture is horrible, uncomfortable, and rooms are decorated from two decades ago. The shower floor was so slippery I almost fell numerous times. Do not stay if you are elderly. Staff were unfriendly and not personable at all. Free breakfast was not good. Stay elsewhere in town. This hotel is way overpriced for what it is. Wouldn’t stay here again."
