"I love the his hotel."

"Somehow this place managed to be large, yet very cozy! I can't say enough good things. Shoes locked up the duration of your time indoors. Everyone walking around in PJs provided by hotel. Free late night ramen (exactly when you need it!), free ice cream, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. Massage chairs! A nice onsen, although it was always crowded in the evenings and... this is my only complaint .... people were noisy in the onsen to include yelling kids. That's more of a guest problem than a hotel problem and people need to be mindful of onsen manners. The staff was AMAZING. Nothing but friendly and extremely responsive. They helped me with luggage forwarding and was very grateful for that. I will recommend this hotel to anybody. Thank you for being so welcoming."

"Located close to train station. Metro and buses are across train station so one has to walk through thousands of people to reach exit (only inconvenience for two senior back packers with sore backs!). Hotel has great amenities and people are wonderful."

"We had a room with a view of Lake Biwa. It was a beautiful. And the breakfast was delicious."

"Awesome Onsen. Quick check in. The two open air mineral baths were clean, comfortable and relaxing. The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. On the 11th floor the afternoon and evening it was gently raining and sitting in the Onsen with rain coming down made me feel one with the rain and hot water. The food was awesome, a huge variety and more than I could eat. The room was traditional Japanese and comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed our 10th wedding anniversary at Yumotokan."

"It was a relaxing stay. Food was amazing. Convenient and easy for non Japanese people to get to and also very accommodating staff. My only complaint with my stay would be the fact the beds were not that comfortable. Especially considering the prices being asked."

"The shuttle to pickup/drop off to and from Ogoto Onsen Station was great; otherwise, it would be a 10 minutes walk with luggage! Our tatami room was very traditional and offered a great view of the lake. Only downside is no blackout curtain so the room is nice and BRIGHT at 6 o'clock in the morning! The 10-course (I think) dinner was interesting and filling; it took us 2 1/2 hours to finish. One note though, the massage was not very pleasant but then again, the appointment was 10pm so I wasn't expecting a great masseuse at that time. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience."
