"The staff at the front desk were wonderful, friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable, the rooms warm and the water hot. The location can not be better, walking distance to Plaza de Armas. The view from the restaurant looks over the Lake and the city. Terrific buffet breakfast. Highly recommended!"

"The room was fine -- small, but clean. On the downside the bed was hard, and there was a fair amount of noise. There is no air conditioning or heater -- but the weather was moderate. The hotel is within close walking distance to the city center. But on the much bigger plus side, is that on both days my Expedia booked tour companies let me down, but the caring staff at Chankana Hotel (Hostel) went above and beyond to help salvage my entire trip! The second day of my trip the Chankana staff...

"Overrated. Furniture and bathrooms need renovation, having a "casino" on the first floor instead of a nice reception does not help either. Breakfast and cleanliness need improvement ."

"Not pleasant...VERY difficult to find, then no record of reservation. Staff called owner who was rude. After demanding a room, the owner finally 'found' a room. I only stayed 2 nights instead of 5."
