"I was not expecting a code-style reception at "A Flemish Tale. To me, an in-person reception check-in is essential for a traveler overseas like me. Thankfully, I was waiting downstairs at least 2 hours before my "check-in time" at 3:00 p.m., so that I was able to meet, totally by chance, the lady in charge at the entrance. But for this, I would not have been able to get my access code. Imagine how scary it was! "

"This is a residential area. I didnt see any shops or places to eat nearby. However very close to train station. You need to check in with an emailed code. Room was fine and large. A very nice breakfast was included at the sister hotel a few doors down which was really good. Overall recommended but my big tip is dont expect nearby shops or places to eat. Is nice and quiet area. "

"Firstly this b&b is most certainly NOT in a rural location as described by Expedia and is definitely NOT multilingual. Just the one member of ‘staff’. The b&b is in the city centre and surrounded by buildings. The only parking is on street - if your lucky. The place does not have its own ‘free parking’ at all. We arrived at b&b at 20.00 after booking our room at 13.30 on the same day to find no one there. Proprietor eventually appeared from property next door as we phoned him and he had no idea...

The location is great, in a neighborhood with good restaurants and shops, but an easy walk to the square/tourist areas. We enjoyed the downstairs "honor bar", very convenient. "It is a lovely studio apartment, very homely and comfortable and is nicely furnished with good hearing. I only stayed one night, would be nice to stay longer. It is in a quiet area but easy to get to nearby villages and towns (Herseaux, Leers, Roubaix). There are supermarkets nearby such as Lidl and Aldi, and the apartment has everything for cooking. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, they didn’t speak much English and unfortunately my French isn’t very good! But it was not a...

"We were in Room 1 on the backside of the house. Great location in a great neighborhood, just minutes walk from the center of the city. Nice little courtyard - would have been great if the weather was better! Inside was interesting and unique decor, yet very spacious and comfortable. Parking was a bit difficult to figure out where we could park overnight for a reasonable cost (i.e. the orange zone) - wasn't too far away, but took me quite a while to figure out where it was."
