We had a wonderful short stay at the Belmond Maroma to celebrate our engagement. The staff and their service were top notch. In particular, Emanuel took great care of us.
The spa was wonderful for both treatments and some time in the hot/cold plunges, steam and sauna. The restaurants were picturesque right on the beach - we particularly liked breakfast with the fresh juices of the day and daily changed pastries. The gym setup is excellent and the daily complimentary activities rounded out our stay.
From the arrival welcome ritual to the departure treats, the staff was unbelievably hospitable. They even made us custom hats that said fiance/fiancee!
We will definitely be back.
Incredible hotel, well thought out with attention to detail. Our butler Jean-Luc was extremely helpful and reactive with all of our requests. Loved that it was smaller occupancy compared to other hotels in the area, with plenty of opportunities to see flora & fauna. We really enjoyed the meal at Woodend, breakfast was great, but found the lunch/dinner food at Casa Mayor to be a bit mediocre. Spa was wonderful, Claudia gave a great massage and the hydrotherapy pools are a nice touch. Also very nice to have access to this everyday.
One minor negative comment: tipping culture is out of hand and highly Americanized - minimum 18%-25% is expected for pretty much everything at the hotel and listed as suggested gratuity - including the breakfast which is included in price of the room. They give you a bill at the end of included breakfast with what your breakfast would have cost had you paid for it, and the amount is incredibly overpriced (i.e. around 80-100 USD for 2 persons) with the assumption you will tip 18-25% of that cost. At around 1,000 USD a night for a room, the hotel should ensure they pay their staff enough to not have to rely on tipping culture. Other parts of Mexico, including Mexico City have an expectation of 10-15% tips.
Lastly, the saragassum was definitely present throughout our stay (August 2025) but the pools and option to go snorkeling nearby was sufficient to not affect our holiday.
We sincerely appreciated our stay and look forward to staying again.
There are no other words other than Maroma is magical. Pictures don't fully capture its essence; it's felt the moment you arrive. The care and attention to detail for each guest is truly remarkable, and deeply genuine. My stay was unlike anything I have ever experienced in the best way possible. Every person who works here is so kind and helpful. Nestled between the jungle and ocean, it is such a reprieve from everyday life. The amenities are luxurious, and it is such a relaxing and peaceful environment. I will be back and recommend anyone to book a stay. It's well worth it.

It’s a beautiful resort in a beautiful location. Great staff, charming rooms, wonderful view and absolutely amazing service. This is one of the best experiences in MEXICO.
Great staff, charming rooms with nice hammock on patio. The included breakfast is just fantastic. All food is well thought, prepared and of super quality just like everything at this place. Pricey, but very charming.
Wonderful view, customer service, and hotel. We rode out hurricane Zeta but we still enjoyed our stay. This is the place to stay if you want to feel like family.
Our stay at the Belmond Maroma was absolutely perfect. The service was spectacular. The staff was friendly and so helpful with anything we wanted. It's a beautiful resort in a beautiful location. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This was my third visit to the Maroma and I know I'll be back again soon. It is beautifully built and landscaped, the food is wonderfully prepared and varied, the staff is friendly and more than helpful, the rooms are lovely, the beach is perfect. Everyone works hard to make it as beautiful as it always is. My favorite thing? Seeing the sunrise over the beach. The jungle view from our terrace. Another favorite? A big dish of guacamole sitting at the bar in the late afternoon. Least favorite thing? Several loud children playing in the pool late at night. (This was never a problem during previous stays) An adults-only policy would be welcome. Thank you to everyone!
Belmont Maroma is amazing! I have already looked into going back and we haven’t even left here. The food was fantastic which is always a big concern for me when traveling to Mexico as I’ve had bad experiences at an all inclusive resort in Mexico before. The food at Belmont was fantastic! Overall we had a blast and can’t wait to return.
It's a large property with extensive grounds and facilities. The staff are extremely helpful and the room rate we paid was reasonable. However, the food and drink prices are out of this world.
