The catamaran excursion at Marona Beach was the highlight of my trip. I did not like that it was so difficult for dinner reservations and waiting for a ride around the resort. Overall, I did enjoy my accommodations.

This is a lovely smaller place in a great location- staff are lovely and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Very friendly helpful staff and good small beach with lovely views

Our first room had plenty of problems, the shower didn’t provide the option for the rainfall only the hand held, the temperature in the shower kept fluctuating from hot to cold, the safe was defective, the sliding door leading to the balcony wasn’t opening and closing properly. Great beaches, cool caves for advanced divers, warm waters, shopping. Just be careful with cash on hands and do not leave it in the room even in the safety box. We were part of bigger group, 3 out of 12 rooms in 4 hotels were missing money or items.
Highly recommend the excursions of Rio Secreto and Chichen Itza.
I love Playa del Carmen. The vibe in the Riviera Maya is much more relaxed than the Cancun area. I also loved 5th Avenue for the shops, people watching and restaurants.

Love the people, the culture, the food, the geography, the history, Mayans, etc, I think Mexico is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
