"To be back in Lisbon, a back at the Hotel Britannia, after many years away was such a pleasure. The hotel is old fashioned in all the best sort of ways; not least that the service is friendly and attentive. It is very comfortable. Rooms are a good size for a European hotel - one doesn't feel cramped. The only note I make is that many of the bathrooms have combined shower/bathtubs, so it is good to be aware of that. Our room was clean and comfortable, but a bit small (we had nowhere to comfortably put our full size luggage) - just a note if you are a heavy packer like us, you may need to upgrade to a larger room! "This hotel is in Baixa just steps from Plaza do Comercio where the Rua Augusta Arch which gives way to the boulevard Rua Augusta, the most prominent boulevard in Baixa. Also steps from the Carmo (Sta Justa Lift). Surrounded by restaurants and shops. Close to main landmarks. The hotel is very nice, most importantly very quiet at night. Great experience.
