Most comfortable bed in England

We love historic places to stay at. The George fit that perfectly. The room was full of charm and character. Modern it is not, but we knew this going in and we expected what they delivered. The restaurant serves delicious food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again given the chance. Thank you, The George Inn, we had a wonderful w experience.

The location was excellent and was within easy walking distance to the historic center of Bath.

The staff are lovely, and the property and gardens are beautiful (although they’re not quite as new or updated as the photos make it seem). It’s more of a charming quiet calm hotel in the countryside. My only issue was that the carpet had tons of large stains on it, which was rather gross and I’d expect a hotel to have a vacuum cleaner that can take stains out of the carpet. The hotel is located outside the city of Bath. It's about a 30 minute walk to the city centre, so we took a local bus. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel which is very convenient. Gems assisted us at check-in and printed out the bus schedule for us!! She was very pleasant as well as all the other staff. We were having dinner at the hotel, and she walked us to the dining room. Beautiful villa . Very clean and breakfast was excellent.

Beautiful hotel, with fantastic gardens, exceptional rooms & service. We were lucky enough to have a large room on the third floor with gorgeous views of the gardens & hills in the distance.

I really enjoyed my stay at The Gainsborough. You honestly couldn't ask for a better location. It's just a block from the square and an easy 10 min walk from Bath Spa train station, so getting around the city was effortless. I never do reviews but felt as if I had to since my wife and I had such an amazing stay at this hotel. Perfect location to walk to all the sites in Bath. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.

Great food. We are dinner and breakfast there

We spent two very comfortable nights with a modern room and bath, nice breakfasts, and one nice dinner. The inn is in a tiny village with a picturesque ruined castle and church nearby, close to Stourhead and Longleat.
