"This is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for relaxation and nature in a gorgeous setting. It's so incredibly zen here, from the design and layout to the sounds of many local birds. The breakfast which is included is SO well prepared, it was such a beautiful way to start the day each morning! The french toast is a must have, probably the best I've ever had which was so unexpected. Their cappuccinos are delicious, and definitely order the mixed juice too! We also had a massage and it was deeply relaxing thanks to Hazel and Danni! All of the staff are genuine and hospitable. Truly such an experience. We cant wait to go back! "

"We enjoyed our very short stay at La Bonita Lodge. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage so we spent most of our day in San Jose buying clothes before heading down to Puerto Viejo. We arrived late but had a nice dinner at Banana Azul and then were able to use the easy to follow directions to gain access to the property and our room. The room was spotless and welcoming. We weren't able to park our car in the lot as it was full but after contacting the host we were told it was fine to park on the other side of the lodge. Communication was fantastic with the staff and I really wish we had been able to enjoy the property during the day as it was beautiful and the pool was very inviting."

"Umami was such a wonderful boutique hotel. The staff was so awesome and giving. The hotel itself was perfect for my solo trip. The middle of town and a short walk to the beach or several restaurants and markets. I especially liked the fact that you could interact with locals and not only tourists and it was only a tuk tuk ride away to really nice beaches further down the coast. So looking ready for my return to CR and will def be staying here!"

"The property is a mini animal sanctuary, with many agouti running around and sloths hanging in the trees. Many birds and frogs and even a kinkajou, although hard to spot. The hosts are very nice and helpful, Marise will make sure you and comfortable and Pierre will tell you all about the wildlife. The room is clean and comfortable, although there is no AC, so keep that in mind. It is walkable to Cahuita although a couple more min out of the way than some of the other hotels, wasn’t a problem to walk to the beach, park or city though. Overall safe, comfortable, and friendly, I would recommend a stay here especially if you want easy access to sloths and wildlife out your front door"
