This place is very cute and well maintained for being more than 100 years old. Their location is perfect for whoever wants to explore old San Juan. There are restaurants, souvenir shops and also parking within walking distance. They have a small kitchen where they offer free coffee and hot chocolate for guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were clean, the bathroom was also clean . Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Fortaleza and we highly recommend it.

There is a damp old book smell when you first walk in. This is giving hostel vibes. It is clean. If your looking to have a place to rest your things and shower but your going to be out all day. Then this is your place.

Room was very unique and charming. Staff was excellent. The floors were not clean: hair, dirt, sand all over our suite. The fold out couch foot area had sand on it and around the button indentions. We had to wipe it down before we could use it.

Ideal spot for a short stay. Walk around Old San Juan and don't worry about finding parking. There are bars, restaurants, and shops all around. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel sign is tiny and easy to miss if you're driving by.
