Staff were helpful and friendly, accommodating even tricky requests (like early morning breakfasts before we left the last day, etc.) There are several pools, the larger pool was awesome for kids with sunny and shady spots. "The hotel staff were fantastic and the view was beautiful. It was quite a ways from San Pedro town which limited dining options for us. The staff booked us a reservation at Mambo with a driver or boat pickup depending on the weather. The breakfast was good but very few options for dinner at the onsite restaurant. If I could do it again, I would rent a golf cart in town for the duration of our stay and book tours that picked us up at the resort dock."

"From the time we were picked up at the airport until the time they dropped us back off, everyone at the Alaia was top notch. Our room was amazing, the pools were really clean and not crowded, the food was good and service was really great. Honestly, I have nothing below great to say about any aspect of the resort. If you are scheduled excursions, make it easy and use the resort as there is minimal savings to search it somewhere else. Take advantage of the morning coffee and walk to a breakfast stand for a fry jack breakfast, you will not be disappointed. "
