"We stayed the Alienor gite, just outside the lovely village of Lanquais near the Dordogne river. Our host Ann is really excellent host. The house is excellent - all the comforts of home, plenty of space, great welcome supplies, spotlessly cleane, nice and cool in the really hot recent weather and excellent value for money. The site up on the side of a wooded hill was really quiet and relaxing, had great views and lovely countryside or riverside walks. The large private garden and facilities...

"Plazac besticht durch die absolut ruhige und ungestörte Lage! Die Hauptstraße des Dorfes ist nur wenig befahren. Es gibt einen kleinen Supermarkt ("Bio"), die Bäckerei ist fast gegenüber. Der Vermieter ist ein sehr interessanter Mann, der sich hervorragend mit den prähistorischen Fundstätten der Region auskennt und gute Tipps geben kann. More sun loungers and a parasol by the pool would have been great and we found the WiFi upstairs patchy. "Situated in a quiet area, just 5 mins walk to centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Safe private parking behind hotel. Didnt use it myself, but you can relax by the pool to enjoy the sunshine."

"Brief overnight stay going from north to south of france. The private parking was nice, the pool was nice (for the kids, I didn't go down), the extra seating looked nice, but I didn't utilize it. The rooms, while weren't 5 star, were perfectly nice and clean. The only reason i gave it 4 stars for cleanliness was the carpet on the stairs. That should def be replaced. The owners were lovely and helpful. And the town turned out to be great as well."

Breakfast was sumptuous - Martine is quite the cook and many ingredients are sourced from the grounds. Whether you want to stay for a couple of nights or a week or more, there is plenty to see and do, and then you can go back and enjoy the comfort of Domaine du Pouzelaine. "
