"We had a wonderful stay here. Our room (for 3 adults) was very comfortable, clean, and had a stunning view. The hotel is located in a ZTL (limited traffic) zone, so we couldn’t drive directly to it and had to walk from the parking garage, which takes about 10 minutes. It can be a bit challenging with luggage, but it wasn’t too bad. On the way back, we took a taxi, but the non-ZTL area isn’t far from the hotel, so driving to that point or taking the public bus (which runs every 20 minutes and stops just a few steps from the hotel) are also good options. The breakfast room is a little bit tight, but it works well for its purpose. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. I definitely recommend this place, and I’ll be coming back—requesting the same room (Terra)!"

"This hotel is one in a million. The teams on the front desk and in the restaurant were just so very professional and welcoming. The breakfast was really delicious, and catered for every different need. We had a lovely room, the pillows were a little hard but the bed was very comfortable. The lighting was ambient and really showed off the uniqueness of the room. In the suite there was no separate place to sit (as would be usual in a suite) so this was disappointing, so when it was warm enough we sat outside which was lovely to watch the beautiful swifts, house martins & swallows busy at work! Be careful of the steps up and down the property, particularly in your room if you are in a suite. It can catch you out if you are half asleep getting to the bathroom. We loved our time in the Spa too, we visited twice. The facilities were everything we needed, we didn't need more although the team there were not as forthcoming and friendly as the teams in the rest of the hotel. The massages we had were very good though. This was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our trip. Matera is wonderful and magical. Staying in this hotel really helped us feel more 'in the zone' and we loved Vito, always there to help when we needed and the reception team were also GREAT! Thank you xx"

"Beautiful room in a cave with independent entrance. Touristic but also quiet location. The access is a bit complicated if carrying bags. Great service and breakfast in the room. I would recommend to friends and family. "

"We knew we were in for something special and unique from the website and other reviews, but Moyseion still exceeded our expectations. They communicated in advance and recommended parking with a free shuttle service to the hotel. From our first look, we were blown away. The hotel was right in the heart of the sassi with incredible views from our room - room 12. We had a lovely welcome and welcome ceremony before heading to our room which was like something from over 2000 years ago but with all the mod cons. We swam in the pool which was so relaxing and like a warm bath in a beautful setting with robes and slippers provided. We were then entertained with an immersive experience into the world of Ancient Greece/Magna Grecia. As an extra treat, there was a personalised experience because it was our 40th wedding anniversary. We later attended the symposium and after more stunning music and dancing, we talked with the artists about their work, arts and performance with authentic food and drink. Breakfast the next day also included music and a beautiful selection of foods reflecting the authentic character of the hotel. Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful as well as passionate about their work and the hotel concept. A delightful experience we will never forget. Make sure you arrive early, don't book dinner until 8 pm at the earliest or a tour until 12 noon to allow time to enjoy all the hotel has to offer (parking company tour did a 12.00 tour which worked perfectly)"
