"Stunning property in a newly restored old house. Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed room. The common areas were comfortable and there was a lovely balcony. The breakfast which was beautifully served on the balcony was beyond compare. Local, fresh, and delicious Cretan treats. Archanes is close to Heraklion and the palace of Knossos and had plenty of dining options. We were in Greece for three weeks and our night at Carpe Diem was probably our best stay. Can’t recommend highly enough. "

"The hotel location is in peaceful area, several groceries near hotel and the parking place for the car is in the mall very close at hotel. "The villas was very clean, spacious and modern. We were there March 12-16 so very early in the season. The pools were closed which I didn’t know until getting there as it was shown when I booked that heated pools were all year round. There was apparently a sandstorm from Africa for a week prior to us coming which then closed the pools. The host offered us an extra night free however we already had our flights back to Athens booked so couldn’t take advantage of that. Michaelis offered a dinner for the 4 of us so we took him up on that offer and it was excellent. The location was pretty good, 20 min from Heraklion, beaches, about 40 min to the CreteAquarium. It’s a pretty quiet area that you are in, the locals are quite friendly and helpful I would stay again as long as the pool was open as my kids felt the disappointment with it not being open. "
