The Garland

The Garland

8/10 Good
"The hotel is well situated near Universal Studios and most people there seemed to be there for that reason. There is a free shuttle to the park. It is right off the 101 freeway. It is a very lively hotel with a pool and outdoor activities such a corn hole and Jenga available. The pool gets sun all day with very little shade and there are no umbrellas at the chairs but you can hide in the corner at a table for shade. Some umbrellas would be nice. The rooms were nice and clean however I found the bed to be way too soft and uncomfortable for my liking. I am an early riser from the east coast and it would have been nice to have a coffee station in the lobby. The restaurant doesn’t open until 7 and while there is coffee in the room I didn’t want to wake my husband. I found myself walking to a nearby store at 5:30 am which was annoying. The restaurant was good. Parking is a bit steep at $50 per day. All in all it was a good experience for this area."
