"We recently stayed at this lovely cottage in Carlisle with my two children and had an amazing time. The place was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage had a lovely big garden with beautiful views, and there were some great walks nearby which we all enjoyed. The host was welcoming and made sure everything was just right. We would definitely love to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!"

"This lodge is the ultimate relaxation destination. It’s placed looking over stunning landscape including a golf course and little lakes. There is such a calming, safe atmosphere here. You can watch the sunset from the hot tub that is sunk into the decking, or from the bedroom out of the floor to ceiling windows. Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom and door to get on to the balcony. The doors in the living room that lead out on to the decking, can be opened completely by sliding them giving you that extra space, which I imagine would be gorgeous in the summer. I have just come back from my second visit here in as many months. You have everything you possibly need for it to feel like a home from home. There is all the modern appliances, even including a wine cooler and hot tap! The curtains are remote controlled which just adds to the luxury. Nothing was too much trouble either, you can order food that can be delivered to your lodge and you can just pop in the oven! It’s delicious! There is also the golf club restaurant which you can get a bite to eat in too or have a drink. The bed in the main bedroom is one of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in and there is also a walk in wardrobe! There’s a washer/dryer if you need to do some laundry while you are there too. This location isn’t too far from a retail park, it’s about 15 min drive, but has everything you need for a stay at the lodge."

"We stayed here for two nights for my sister's graduation, I really cannot praise this hotel enough. On arrival you notice how attractive the place is, there is loads of parking, and the surrounding countryside is quiet even though the road is nearby. Entering the building is equally impressive, the staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I was expecting a pub/B&B but this feels more like a luxury hotel with beautiful lounges, comfortable chairs and books to lose yourself in. The rooms were wonderful, generously sized and finished to a high quality standard. The only small problem was that two of the rooms had a drainy smell which we considered a countryside smell which couldn’t be helped given the location. This did not take away from the beauty of the rooms though, bathroom was very luxurious and spotlessly clean. I always take slippers when staying in a hotel as I usually find that the floors feel dirty or sticky but this was not a problem at the Fleece. I walked around barefoot in the room and the carpet felt soft and clean underfoot. We dined in the restaurant both nights and the food was delicious. The night of her graduation they even brought my sister a sweet plate with congratulations written on it. The lovely waitress at breakfast even remembered the next day and asked her how it went which was very thoughtful. I could rave on about this place forever but couldn’t do it justice. I’d happily recommend this hotel to anyone."
