"We have stayed at the Sofitel London Gatwick Hotel before and their service has always been exceptional. On this overnight stay, because we had an early flight to catch, their efficiency at check-in was even better than I remembered. Other VIP access hotels have many times not given the perks at their front desk check-in. I had brought that to the attention of Hotels.com and an agent said if the hotel is not forthcoming, that we should ask for the perks we are entitled to when staying at a VIP access properties. The front desk agent, Mo, was excellent. Everything was already prepared including the voucher for 20% off food and beverage. The bed, bed linens and pillows were heavenly. The room was clean.
Staff offered to make reservations for us at one of their restaurants. We ate at the Mediterranean one. Food was delicious. One thing to note; the Chinese restaurant does not honor the 20% voucher but you are told this at the front desk and so it is not a surprise. I would definitely stay here again. All the special requests we made, were honored. There is a breakfast card on the door. If you fill it out by or before 2am, your order is delivered to the room at your chosen time. We had to check-in by 8am and so got the chance to have breakfast in the room before check-in."
