"Second time stay for leisure purposes. Given the option to check in online 24hrs earlier, which led to a speedy check in and room was ready for our arrival at 14.30hrs. Comfortable room (standard), noted to have no bin liners in bins provided in room which isn't very hygienic, separate WC to bathroom which had no vanity basin, so if someone was in the bathroom you could not wash your hands. Comfortable bed, clean, room not very sound proofed as we could hear guests conversations in the corridor late at night. Breakfast was plentiful, although there was a delay in waiting for the hot items to be restocked, staff waiting on were friendly and helpful and arranged for an omelette to be cooked fresh to order, from the kitchen. Paid for 24hrs parking in the hotel for £18. Spaces were a bit tight as its situated underneath the hotel but good value for leeds centre. Overall a pleasant stay and the minor issues wouldn't put us off from staying again"

"Very efficient check in with friendly staff. The room was clean. It was an executive suite and very spacious, almost too much so as it felt oddly sparse. As mentioned in previous reviews, the room and furniture were ‘tired’ and in need of updating. The hotel must have been glorious in its heyday but its splendour has definitely faded. Having said that, I thought the 2 night stay was good value, and the hotel is in a very central location. Don’t expect luxury but do consider its value for money and its location. "

"Superb hotel, friendly staff, lovely surroundings. The hotel looks fabulous inside and out. The Bar area does get quite full, but this is testament to a quality establishment. We stayed in room 202 which had nice decor, comfortable bed, very clean and spacious. Only downside was the curtains do let in a lot of light but luckily the said Fat Badger bar helped in that respect by serving fabulous ales and delicious cocktails. We will be back again "

"Room and facilities are good. Staff a bit grumpy .. 4 on reception when we arrived … no-one looked up … not sure the guest is a priority here. "

"Standard of Housekeeping cleanliness in bathrooms well below par. Handling of complaints abysmal. Your duty manager appears to believe that because the rooms are ‘old’ customers should accept mould, scaling & improperly cleaned toilet. They did change rooms, 2nd room frankly not much improved with similar issues plus someone else’s hair on the shower wall. I asked the receptionist for compensation, refund of 1st night should have been offered as they couldn’t move my room - or clean it to an acceptable standard, and a 2nd free night as compensation for that & for the room key not working. She told me that they can’t do refunds as I booked online. She did offer me a free breakfast, which I didn’t want & which was not anppropriate compensation for the state of the bathroom. I asked her to refer my complaint to Hotel Manager. They did not acknowledge or do anything about it. Whether she couldn’t be bothered to flag my complaint or the Manager couldn’t be bothered to address it I don’t know. Neither is acceptable. Appalling service. Asked for compensation"
