"The property is set in beautiful surroundings. Very steep and hilly which is not for everyone. Need to get picked up by property’s Tuk Tuk to reception dining and pool. We stayed near the pool so that was easy. The difficult and dangerous part is access to the beach from the pool. There are a lot of uneven steps and limited railings. We loved being there had easy access into Karon Centre at night for 200bht lots of yummy restaurants and market."

"Rooms have very thin walls. The daily fire show is absolutely pointless as you are sat on a beautiful beach with beautiful surroundings. Then all of a sudden some people turn up with the loudest speaker playing the worst music burning kerosene. Not needed and about as entertaining as a broken leg. Onsite singers also not particularly entertaining as can’t really sing. Some ambient vibes would be better. Breakfast hall too small for the amount of people. Lovely people but wouldn’t return."

"It was OK. It's looking a bit tired in places and it's not a grand beach centara but overall for the price it was OK. A few points to raise. We indulged in the seafood buffet on a Thursday evening. Apparently "eat as much as you can" - this was not the case we were served 1 squid, 6 or 7 prawns when more prawns were requested we waited for 30 minutes another waitress bought a squid to our table so we asked again but they never arrived so we left.... Staff too interested in looking after large...

"Maikhao hotel was in a convenient location…less than a mile from Maikhao beach and with plenty of dining options in the vicinity. The property was clean, but older and they were low staff - no bell man. Nonetheless, it is safe and clean enough for families."
