"We really enjoyed our stay at Oakwood - a very clean modern hotel. Enjoyed the bonus of free wine tasting on one of the nights. Downsides - The hotel lobby & hallways are overly perfumed with air fresheners to the point it was nauseating and triggered asthma attacks. Lifts are incredibly slow and often very crowded. Allow more time for trying to go up and down to your room. We checked out Sunday morning - and went to the lobby bar for a coffee. to be told there was no more coffee orders being taken (despite all day service advertised, and having had coffees previously). Reported it to the front desk and they didn’t seem very interested. No cafes near by - other hotel patrons were actually going to the hotel over the road (AC Hotel Melbourne) to get coffee !! Given location to any local good coffee spots is quite a distance - the quality of coffee and the service of coffee (including being declined at the all day service bar) would stop us from staying here again. Also our room wasnt replenished with coffee / tea / milk on a two night stay - so we really struggled with not being able to even start our day with a coffee."
