"This villa is a real gem. Absolute world class one of a kind experience. Peaceful, beautiful mountain views from a modern, private and well thought out house. The location was perfect and central. Only 20 minute drive from all of the pristine beaches around Plakias and 20 minute drive from Rethymno for shops and city life while enjoying Crete’s mountain vistas and nature. We also enjoyed the beautiful pool. Supermarkets and Spilli are just a short drive away. We had it all! The host was very helpful and kind. Highly recommended."

"This house is simply beautiful! We spent 12 days there and were absolutely delighted. We’ve booked quite a few houses in Spain and Italy, but this one beats them all! Everything has been thought of here, and above all, the quality is superb! The pool was maintained several times during our stay, and we even had the house cleaned with fresh bed linen after the first week. The outdoor kitchen is simply fabulous for barbecues. The outdoor shower is simply wonderful, and the view of the sea at any time of day is the best thing you could ask for. We visited some beautiful coves and beaches in the surrounding area. The maximum drive there was 10–15 minutes. We highly recommend a visit to Taverna Mariou, which is just 500 metres away. Top-notch food with a breathtaking view. A hidden gem is the Merastri Sellia Taverna, just a 15-minute drive away. We didn’t find better food anywhere else. We wouldn’t recommend eating out in Plakias – the quality is rather poor. The Syn.Ka supermarket is just an 8-minute drive away.Communication with the manager, Dimitra, was excellent. The same goes for the owner, Tasos. When we arrived, we were surprised to find various specialities in the fridge and on the kitchen table. Thank you very much for that! The only downside is the strong winds in July, but on the plus side, it wasn’t too hot. And having a cup of tea or coffee on the upper terrace and looking out over the sea, is the very definition of quality life. Thank you so much for everything!"

"We are 5 adults and 4 kids and we were comfortable and happy! The separate residences are great for big groups. The playground and play area let the kids have fun outside without ever getting bored. Our host Katerina was sweet and helpful. The location is phenomenal, quiet, cool, and still. I would highly recommend Kefali Villa!"

"Absolutely lovely hosts provide a very warm welcome. The property is located in a quiet and picturesque spot with some walkable distance from the sea. All required amenities were present, the description is accurate. Totally worth the money. Highly recommend!"

"Die Villa war geräumig mit drei Sitzplätzen im Außenbereich, von denen immer einer im Schatten lag. Der Pool wurde jeden Morgen vom Vermieter gepflegt und wir ab und an mit einfachen kretischen Spezialitäten verwöhnt. Die Gegend ist äußerst ruhig, nachts sind nur einzelne Tiere zu hören bei geöffnetem Fenster. Eine gute Basis für Ausflüge verschiedenster Art."

"Sea view room above a restaurant owned by a beautiful family who showed the best hospitality ever. We arrived late and were still offered dinner, there was everything we needed in the room inclusive of coffee machine and coffee, waters and utensils, air conditioning a huge bonus, freshly clean sheets, a drying rack for putting our wet bathing suits on our private balcony, a table and two chairs to move out there as well. Sun blocking curtains, a mosquito net to the sliding door so we could wake up with the sunrise, in the post peaceful, quiet area at the foot of the canyon. A two minute walk to the beachfront where you can rent umbrellas and lounge, and also located is the base of the small hiking trail to get to the palm forest. But it was all made perfect by the kindness of the most wonderful staff. Many thanks and we will be coming back every year! (freddo espresso a must!) and wifi included--Thank you Dionyssos Rooms!"

"Wonderful stay. The host was great. Quick to reply to messages and very knowledgeable about the area. The house was great. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool isn’t massive but was plenty big enough to cool down and the children loved playing in it. The area is stunning. Amazing views and a number of great beaches within a short drive. We were treated to a hot mousaka on our arrival and the kitchen was brilliantly stocked with wine and treats and home made cheese. On one of the days we got a tour of the farm and a the kids got to ride a horse. We felt very looked after. Brilliant place if your looking for a quite stay in the awe inspiring Crete mountains. "
