"Many years ago, my wife and I had meals here when we lived in St Neots which were much enjoyed, but given we moved away from the area, it's been a long time. My daughter lives in St Neots again now and I needed a place to stay overnight. Having used Premier Inns generally, if the price was right, I decided to book, but was astounded to find they wanted £150 for a Tuesday night! I had noticed the extention on the Eaton Oak many times, and managed to get a room at a very reasonable price of £84 with breakfast included.
Upon arrival I was cordially met by the staff and had a no nonsense check in, The restaurant had changed a bit, but the atmosphere and ambiance hadn't. I was shown my room, and given how long the rooms had been there, I wasn't expecting much, but upon opening the door, found myself look at a spotless room more suited to some of the 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Wow.
The traffic noise is minimal, you don't need a PHD to work out the multi function shower and I slept like a log, despite it being around 33C outside. The bedrooms face south-east, but hadn't seemed to maintain the early morning heat and a fan is provided. Along with a ironing board, iron, and something else in the wardrobe, but can't remember what.
I had to leave without breakfst due to being late to see my daughter, but if the smell and visuals I could see were anything to go by, I am sure it would have been scrummy.
My personal opinion, a gem just off the beaten track."
