"We were passing through York after staying in Edinburgh and found the Impossible Motel. We only stayed for 1 night but the room was great with a really comfy bed and soft bedding. Great location and close to the shambles Q park for ease of parking which was really secure and easy to find. Staff welcoming, warm and friendly and a great ambience. We look forward to staying again when we're in York."

"Just stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in York for 3 nights. The hotel is in a great location, very near the centre of York, easy walking distance to the shops. The hotel exceed my expectations in all areas, the staff were very helpful, polite kind and courteous throughout the stay. The complimentary breakfast was a bonus with a wide choice of items to choose from. I would definitely recommend this Hotel, and this will be my go to Hotel for all my future stays in York."

"Booked a double-double room for a university visit. Hotel location is excellent and the room was clean and relatively well equipped, if a little dated. Beds were comfortable and there were the usual facilities in there too (fan, iron and boars, safe etc..) The only negative point is that there is no air conditioning, which - given that we managed to arrive on a day that was 27c - was a problem. The fans helped but it was still a clammy and uncomfortable night. Even budget hotels these days have AC so if you're staying in York during the warmer months it's worth bearing this in mind - especially when we paid almost £300/night."

"One of the coolest cutest hotels I’ve ever stayed in! This was a memorable experience. If you hesitate don’t be you will not regret. There are steep stairs (thinking my older parents would have a hard time navigating) but there are rooms on first floor. Great location the best beer across the street. Advice from someone who only spent 1 night - make sure you stay at least 2 nights!! So much to see and do!"

"Every member of staff we encountered from the receptionist to the maintenance staff and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Such good customer service the manager should be very proud. Room was very good , clean, roomy and well appointed. The only complaint we had was that the drains in the bathroom smelt bad. It didn’t stop us enjoying our stay but if we had been staying more than one night we would have asked to change rooms. Apart from that we would definitely return."

"Friendly helpful staff. Food was very good for this star rating. Lovely cooked breakfasts and evening meals. All areas were clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom required updating but on the plus side loads of hot water. We stayed for a long weekend and due to hot weather needed the bedroom window open overnight. The street noise was pretty bad. On a positive note great location for all York has to offer. Very pleasant stay."
