"Staff were helpful and polite. The room was clean, with an excellent view. But the bed was not very comfortable, and the heating was not brilliant. The fixtures and fittings were worn and dated. Breakfast was ok, but could do with a decent coffee machine as you would find in similar setups. So in short, a potentially lovely place that just needs investment to upgrade it."

"The location is excellent but a lot of traffic noise. The hotel staff are very good and friendly. Food is mediocre. The worst part is simply the cleanliness of public areas. I’ve stayed there many times and despite pointing many things out (I didn’t even get an acknowledgement) lots of areas are filthy. A good example is the window ledge on the main staircase. It’s covered in dust, dead flies and cobwebs. What is disappointing is that all these areas could be cleaned in minutes with a vacuum and a damp cloth - as far as I’m aware it’s been like that for well over a year and it’s plainly visible when you walk up the stairs."
