"We had a great time staying at APA Hotel Asakusa Kurumae Kita. Check-in was simple, we got a little welcome kit for our toddler, they clean the rooms every 3rd day of your stay, fresh towels available, daily room makeup if also available, and ultimately just a very simple and low key. The rooms were nice, bathrooms really clean, and the hotel was very quiet. We were there for 3 earthquakes and even with a little sway the building felt safe and the notification that it was safe was done in Japanese and English. There’s a great running path behind the hotel, along the river and the Breakfast buffet was literally like two buildings over at the APA hotel next door. In the middle of various train exits/entrances. 10-15 min walk from the bustling night life streets and food vendors but perfect for our family. 7-11 and lawsons right across the street."

"Overall we found our stay here fine, but compared to other hotels and accommodations on our trip, this one felt a bit less optimal. Things we loved: proximity to train stations and the quietness of the surrounding area— while still having a good selection of food and shopping nearby. The room was also clean and had the essentials we needed. Things that could’ve used improvement: our room felt very damp/humid the entire time. Our towels never fully dried and our clothes had that slight dampness as well. We also never really ran into any staff. One of the floors was meant to have a small cafe/sitting area for breakfast… and meant to open around 8 or 9am but we never were able to catch it while it was open. The check in process also didn’t involve a person, except one clerk who assisted us through the automated digital process. It was fine in the end but just missed that human component. Additionally, we did experience the weird wait times for the elevator. This wasn’t a huge deal but just seemed really strange to have to wait on elevators regularly despite what seemed like a large amount of them. In the end, we had what we needed but we would possibly look into other options next time."

Ryogoku View Hotel

"The hotel is right next to the Ryogoku station where you can see it from the platform. The room I had was not noisy at all, very quiet. There’s convenience stores around to buy essentials( water, juice , snacks and ice cream. There’s also a coffee shop adjacent to the hotel entrance which we frequented. The Sobu line has frequent trains so very convenient."

"Our recent stay was my second time at this hotel and, just like before, it was clean and well staffed. All rooms are non-smoking, which is a must for my family. My husband liked to go up to the rooftop garden every day and practice his tai chi. The breakfast room is on the second floor (not the street level like a lot of hotels) and it is very pleasant to look down onto the city as it wakes up. It really helps when jet lagged to be able to eat breakfast at 6:30. Asakusabashi is a surprisingly convenient location and the JR train/ Toei subway station is just a short walk away."
