"Property has an excellent location directly on the ocean with panoramic views. It also has a spectacular pool area with fire pits and great outside seating area. They provide convenient parking and shuttle transportation to downtown Newport. Lastly, the staff throughout the property was friendly, competent and accommodating. I would recommend this property highly."

We love the Viking and consider other places to stay but for 15 years of visiting there, we consistently have stayed exclusively at Hotel Viking. With that said, the new parking rates and resort fees have increased dramatically and it almost prevented us from staying there this time. " I went there with relatively low expectations other than clean sheets. I was pleased with the room, in general. The bed was lumpy, higher in the middle, lower on the sides. There was a fat pillow & a thin pillow for choice. Not very comfortable for sleeping but clean. When I sat down at the desk, the seat of the chair was hardly there; it was missing the base, the frame was there, so I took one of the decor pillows & put it on the chair-problem fixed. "My whole family loves this hotel! It is beautiful and clean and in a perfect location. Very walkable to the harbor in Newport. The food is delicious and fresh, the bar is great, and even the mini bar in the rooms is a cut above. They have little stations on all of the floors (except the 2nd) where you can get cold water, sparkling water, ice, ice cream. Just another lovely touch at this hotel.
