"After a rather pot holed approach road to the site you are greeted by a terraced bungalow complex. On my second night I discovered there is accommodation in the attic with bare floor boards- I had a rather noisy person above me! These should be carpeted as a courtesy to those on the ground floor.The person who checked me in was pleasant but not thorough with information. I met her in the grounds as I was checking out and her dog was growling at me.My room was adequate and nicely carpeted with...

"The welcome was very friendly. We were shown to the room up 2 flights of stairs. Good sized room with double bed ensuite. Bed was so comfortable. Ensuite shower was electric which worked fine but not as much water pressure I like but that's a personal thing. Ironing board with iron came in handy on the day of the wedding. The food in the restaurant was delicious as was the Guinness!!"

"Was such a joy to stay here. Conveniently located for the Peak District, Hawthorn Farm is a charming place. Our room felt so homely, the hosts Paul and Sarah were lovely and breakfast excellent. The oatcakes are a must try! We had such a better quality, personal experience here at Hawthorn Farm compared to the impersonal chain corporate hotels we’ve stayed at. Would definitely come back next time we visit the area."
